New Beginnings

St. James the Less Catholic Parish has been a pillar of the Mukwonago and Southern Kettle Moraine communities for many years. With the growth of Mukwonago and the surrounding area, there is a clear need for new educational options for families in this burgeoning community. To meet this need, St. James, under the leadership of our Pastor, Father Jordan Berghouse, has exciting plans underway to reopen the parish school as a new academy. Headmaster, Grover Green has been working tirelessly to reach the goal of an August 2024 opening!

Our Unique Approach

Through our extensive research on educational methods and philosophies, we have selected a combination of approaches that will enhance the teaching and ideals of our mission.

Our curriculum combines a Montessori-based Early Childhood Program (2K-K) with a Classical Liberal Arts approach in the elementary and middle school grades.

To complement our rich curriculum, we select teachers who are not only competent but also possess joy and enthusiasm to facilitate a sense of wonder and love of learning that reflects the SJL Academy’s mission.
